Level 1 Avalanche
Gain a fundamental understanding of avalanche formation and triggering by examining snowpack, weather, terrain, human factors and learn rescue skills necessary for venturing into avalanche terrain. This is the primary avalanche instruction for anyone venturing out into the backcountry.

Build and expand on existing avalanche knowledge and refine skills for transceiver use and search, snowpack and pit data, terrain, weather, avalanche mechanics and decision making.
